Villa near Utrecht

This modern single-family house in the Dutch province of Utrecht thrives on its straight lines and the carefree elegance of its mirror-clear glass façade. The architectural goal was to open up the house to the natural world and permit as much natural light as possible to flow into the interior: this aim was achieved via the numerous large window areas and glass sliding doors.

The front of the house, which lends it its character, is a combination of FIN-Vista and FIN-Project windows, as well as FIN-Slide lift-and-slide doors that  can be individually adapted thanks to their modular functionality and can be seamlessly joined together. The slender window frames, made of aluminium both on the outside and inside, give the façade its elegant structural lines. The PVC core keeps cold out and heat in – the insulation provided by the large windows lets in nature, but not the outside climate.
