Building complex in Munich

Slide-in installation preserves ceramic façade.

Window refurbishment in a multi-unit building with a striking and valuable ceramic façade on Munich’s Rindermarkt presented a challenge: no damage to the tiles – protected as an ensemble – was permitted during the replacement operation. The solution: slide-in installation from Finstral. No masonry work is required, no need for scaffolding and all work is carried out from the inside, meaning no risk to the valuable tiles.

Finstral made a good impression also with its modular product range, which is specifically tailored to the requirements of protecting ensembles. Originally of the double-sash type, the windows from the second to the fourth floors were replaced with single-sash windows with a glazing bar attached in the middle – without need for consultation with the authority charged with monument protection. Thanks to its modularity, Finstral was able to supply a double-sash variant for the buildings without any difficulty – and once again return to the historic original.
